P A C E Instructions
1. Water for Energetic
Water is an excellent conductor of electrical energy. Two-Thirds of the human body (about seventy percent) is made up of water. All of the electrical and chemical actions of the brain and central nervous system are dependent on the conductivity of electrical currents between the brain and the sensory organs, facilitated by water. Like rain falling on the ground, water is best absorbed by the body when provided in frequent small amounts. Water assists learning and thought. Just as you refuel your car, make sure to keep yourself hydrated. Drink water while doing energy work. Be sure to drink throughout the day to maximize your potential for being energetic.
2. Brain Buttons for Clear
Brain Buttons (soft tissue under the clavicle to the left and right of the sternum) are massaged deeply with one hand while holding the navel with the other hand. Also called K-27 points. These points are stimulated for 20-30 sec. or until the tenderness is released. This activity sends messages from the right hemisphere to the left side of the body, and vice versa. The brain receives increased oxygen and blood supply while the carotid artery is stimulated.
3. Cross Crawl for Active
This is similar to walking in place. Alternately move one arm and its opposite leg and the other arm and its opposing leg. Swing back and forth in this pattern for about 1 minute. This movement activates all parts of the brain -right/left hemispheres, top/bottom, and back/front areas of the brain and body simultaneously. This cross crawl movement helps facilitate integrated learning. There are many variations to this movement and you can play around with skipping, doing it slowly, or reaching behind the body to touch the opposite foot. It helps get the body and mind ready for the day or is a great energy booster in the middle of the day.
4. Hook-Ups for Positive
This can be done sitting standing, or lying down. I find the hook-ups to be relaxing, calming, and grounding. Hook-ups connect the electrical circuits in the body, containing and thus focusing both attention and disorganized energy. The mind and body relax as energy circulates through areas blocked by tension. To remember which foot you cross over, clasp your hands together and notice which thumb is on top. Then….
Part One: Left thumb on top: Cross your left ankle over the right. Extend arms in front of you, right wrist over left and thumbs down, palms together. Interlace fingers and draw hands close to chest, elbows down. When you look down, you will notice the left side of the body is on the top just like in the thumb exercise. Now you can close your eyes while you rest the tongue on the roof of the mouth behind the teeth and breathe in and out for about a minute. Right thumb on top: Just cross your right ankle over left and left wrist over right so that when you are in the hook-up and you look down, you see the right side is on top just like in the thumb exercise.
